When someone asks, 'why do you wear glasses?', the most reasonable and obvious response is 'I need them to see'. However on this fateful day, the response was something both unexpected and some would say, illegal. As I sat on the tram alongside Johnny, little did we know the events that were about to unfold. A ride, that on average takes about ten minutes, seemed like an eternity. We took our seats, and opposite us was an over sized man, taking up 2/3 of the chair space. At the time we thought nothing of it. Then one tram stop later, our world changed forever. A young lady enjoying her meat pie (she was having it for breakfast, odd choice of food for the morning imo) and attempted to sit next the large man, who I will refer to as Bear. She was only able to just make it onto the seat. The ride continued, when out of nowhere, Bear began to make some weird noises. We became scared, not only for our own safety, but also for the lady eating the pie. Was Bear attempting to take the pie from her? or was he just making weird noises coz that's what he did? We began to make scenarios through text, as speaking may have made Bear uneasy. Finding our comments funny, we started laughing as Bear continued to make noises. I was then looking out the window, when i noticed the Uni stop was coming up. At this point Johnny was looking down, as to avoid eye contact with Bear and keep from laughing. This is when i took one look at Bear, who began to take off his glasses. Thinking he was going to rub his eyes in a weird way, i notified Johnny. What we saw next was by far the most disturbing thing we have seen in our lives. To our horror, Bear took his glasses and in a slow motion, tilted them so that he could use one side of them as a ear cleaning device. The uncontrollable laughter began, but luckily for us our stop had arrived. We exited promptly, and made a dash for the university.
What an unusual way to use glasses, i certainly never thought to use them as ear buds before. Either Bear is a genius, or a complete wacko. So, what do you use your glasses for?
